Sales Department Intern
My name is Riekie Schildmeijer. I am 20 years old and study Commercial Economics at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen. I am currently in my second year and this includes an internship of 20 weeks. Of course, I’m doing this internship at Eska. In addition to my studies, I work at Leen Bakker. My hobbies are cooking and keeping busy.
When I started the second year of my studies, I was advised to start looking for an internship immediately. So that’s what I’ve done. The Hanze University of Applied Sciences has an ‘Onstage’ website that lists several vacancies for internships. This is where I saw the Eska vacancy, which immediately appealed to me. After sending an email with a cover letter and my CV, I was invited for an interview. And now I’m here!
I’ll work in the company’s customer service department during my internship. I’ll do the same tasks that the employees do on a daily basis, which will give me a glimpse of how things are done there. This enables me to gain experience that will help me in my business-related development. I will carry out research and commercial activities in addition to the work I’ll do in Eska’s back office. During the research, I’ll look into which E-commerce companies could be potential customers for the packaging that Eska offers. I will search for information first and then contact companies that connect to it. The commercial activity that will be carried out relates to improving the preparation of the stand staff. Central to this is the evaluation and mapping of the improvements that can be made in order to perfect it further. This will result in a business model and a briefing that will go to the stand staff for the next fair. This fair is in May 2018. I expect to have a really enjoyable and informative time!
